Areas of Expertise
Artist
I have been a “hobbyist artist” my entire life, dabbling in drawing, painting, clay, mixed media/collage pieces.
Twenty years ago, I became obsessed with smooth seashell fragments that I collected in the Outer Banks. I, and my dear friend, Toni Radomski created Two Grannies Jewelry. Our work was shown and sold in NY, FL NC and VA.
Currently, I am working with dried catalpa, lotus and peony pods and other natural materials to create three-dimensional mixed media/assemblage hanging and free-standing art.
I have been invited to show my work in 2024 at:

I am a member of Rochester Contemporary Art Center (Rochester, NY) and View Art Center (Old Forge, NY). My husband, Don, provides all the technical support needed to enable me to successfully create the pieces I envision! I have donated work to several fundraisers for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.
Freelance writing
I have decades of experience in writing feature stories, children's books and stories, poetry, corporate annual reports and newsletters. I have also created and presented numerous retreat programs, marketing campaigns, and training materials.
I am always interested in discussing new and challenging creative projects.
Visual Art
I am also a teacher and practitioner of stone stacking. I practice stone stacking everywhere I travel and have taught it to my grandchildren and to young people and adults at two summer fitness festivals. I believe it is a way to connect with nature in an almost spiritual way, as you are still and focused on finding the balance points between objects. For me, stone stacking has a very "zen-like" quality and can be practiced in ways that are totally respectful and harmonious with nature. I have a children's book about stone stacking in development.
Like the sun and moon, stars, tides and seasons, women exhibit the ability to change, to rise up, to re-create themselves. Whether she rises through her connection with a Higher Power or by stirring the pot of her own energies and desires, the WOMAN RISING Series celebrates moments of triumph, success and survival represented by the natural elements of calcium (shell), wood & freshwater pearl.
